Plan Your Birmingham Game Day

Choose a game first, then decide whether to eat by the venue or make a separate food and drink stop.

Birmingham game days gather in a few parts of town. Downtown has UAB football, Birmingham Legion FC soccer, and Barons baseball. The UAB campus has basketball, volleyball, baseball, and soccer. Samford in Homewood has football, basketball, and soccer.

Downtown stadium and ballpark

Protective Stadium is home to UAB football and Birmingham Legion FC. Capella Pizzeria and Eugene's Hot Chicken are about 0.1 mile away. The Roof at The Redmont is about half a mile away.

Regions Field is the Barons' ballpark in the Parkside District. Good People Brewing is right beside it, and Michael's Steak & Seafood is about 0.1 mile away.

The UFL has said the Stallions will not play in Birmingham in 2027.

UAB and Samford campuses

Bartow Arena hosts UAB basketball and volleyball. Young Memorial Field and PNC Field cover baseball and women's soccer. Ted's Restaurant and De Nada are about a quarter to a third of a mile from the arena.

In Homewood, Pete Hanna Stadium hosts Samford football, and the Pete Hanna Center hosts basketball and volleyball. Food is about a mile from the campus address, so plan a short drive.

West side and a drive east

Legion Field hosts the Magic City Classic, and Rickwood Field is open for free visits on weekdays. Few roster places sit close to either, so plan a short drive. Barber Motorsports Park hosts IndyCar racing east of the city.

Keep watching after the game

High Dive HiFi Lounge in Lakeview and Woody's Food + Bar in Mountain Brook Village both publish game viewing. Each is a drive from the venues above.
